Emeritus
Our
founding Queen Mum (she'd have been called the
president in a more dull organization) was Carla C. Kerr. She wasn't elected—she just
came with the territory.
She was Queen Mum of Classic Elegance Red Hatters from its founding, May 13, 2003, until she turned the crown over to Queen Mum Barbara Reese on December 15, 2007.
Carla is retired from a post as senior marketing administrative assistant with an international professional organization based in Dallas. She's active in various civic and charitable activities, and was formerly Volunteer Coordinator with For the Love of the Lake, an organization devoted to the preservation and enhancement of White Rock Lake and the surrounding park as an urban oasis. And she has a lot of red hats.
Carla and her husband Doug (a retired telecommunications engineer) live in Weatherford, Texas.
